Vinnie:  Probably going to buy an EEEPC, 1.6ghz with 1GB memory / 12GB SSD, anyone have reason to believe these blow?

dreddnott:  Last year my mom bought a 900A for $200 and I put EasyPeasy loonix on it for her.

They work very well for what they are, and DOSBOX/emulator gaming is actually practical. The biggest issue for me is storage space, you definitely want a lot.

Vinnie:  my plan is to stream everything I need over the network. For the most part this will just be for sitting on the couch, maybe watching movies (as I can't get VLC to output to anything the XBox will read), some coding/moving between work & home. But anything involving a lot of storage, I expect I'll just use the WiFi to get things from a "real" computer.

Moot at the moment, everybody's out-of-stock. Though, if I can be confident of finding a power adapter, maybe I can get my parents to bring one over, save £100...
